Professor Komarova teaches at the University of California, Irvine. She hold a PhD degree from the University of Arizona. Her interests lie at the interface between mathematical and life sciences in trying to formulate interesting questions in areas of biology, medical and social sciences and linguistics, in the language of mathematics. She tries to find answers to these questions by developing applied math techniques. The main unifying topic is evolution.
